Foreign Trained Attorneys ("FTA") Eligibility:
We receive many requests for information from Attorneys who were educated outside of the United States asking about their eligibility to take the US Bar Exams. We cannot answer those questions; only the bar examiners of the specific states can make determinations of eligibility, often on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the bar examiners directly for a determination of your eligibility to take the exam.
At present, the only three states we service that consider all FTA's to take the bar exam are New York, California and Texas. Some graduates of Puerto Rico may take the Florida Exam. Our understanding is that FTA's may NOT sit for the bar exams of Florida, Georgia or New Jersey, or for the Multistate Bar Exam by itself, other than as noted above.
For more information about your eligibility to take the exam, please contact the bar examiners using the links below:
California Bar Examiners: www.calbar.org
New York Bar Examiners: www.nybarexam.org
Texas Bar Examiners: www.ble.state.tx.us
Florida Bar Examiners:
www.floridabarexam.org
Once you have received a determination of eligibility, please contact us about our course for that exam.
You should also note that FTA's MUST take the full bar exam, not a shorter form such as a "state-only" or "Attorney" exam. California applicants MAY be required to take the First Year Exam in addition to the general bar exam at a later date. The California examiners will let you know if this is necessary.
"Having just received the fantastic news that I passed both the Feb 2007 NY Bar
Exam and the MPRE, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Jackson and the
Celebration Bar Review Team for all of the help and support I have received over
the past few months. As an English trained lawyer taking the exams for the
first time (and working full time in my
firm's busy Corporate department), I knew that my journey would be a difficult
one but with the clear and concise materials and invaluable mentoring I was able
to confidently work through the study guide and, importantly, remain calm as the
exams loomed closer.
Regular conferences with Jackson helped to minimize my fears about unfamiliar
exam formats and new essay writing techniques and it was such a great relief to
know that I could send an email with any queries or concerns and that I was sure
to get a quick response. My experience should give hope to other foreign
trained attorneys out there who may
have heard (as I did) the horror stories telling that it is impossible to pass
first time unless you have previously studied US law. That may be true with
other courses but not this one. With dedication and adherence to the study
guide (and Jackson's instructions and advice!) it is perfectly possible to come
to exam day with the ability to pass first time!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!"

"I am extremely happy to announce that I passed the New York State Bar Exam!!!
I still can't believe it! Thank you for all you did for me! With God's help,
hard work and your tutoring I managed to pass one of the toughest exams in
America! It is even more incredible, because as a foreign trained attorney and
non-native English speaker (I am Polish) I had way more challenging quest. As it
turned out, your materials and approach are the best available on the market.
Certainly, it not always was easy, but following Jackson's advice and adhering
strictly to the Personal Study Guide is just enough to be successful on
the bar exam. I recommend Celebration Bar Review to all those, who want the bar
exam to be only a one-time ordeal."

"I passed the July 2006 NY Bar Exam. As a foreign-trained lawyer working
full-time in a non-legal job, it was a challenging undertaking to sit the NY Bar
exam. You are a gifted teacher and the course notes fully complemented your
lectures. With your materials I always felt confident that I was learning well,
and enjoyed it too. The commentary in the practice MBE questions were on-target
and a great learning tool. I could not imagine a better way to learn the
material and to keep a sense of humor and perspective at the same time."

"Don't be a sheep and follow the flock by taking more common courses such as
BarBri. As a foreign law graduate I decided to take the Celebration Bar Exam Review course and passed
the California Bar first time round! Celebration really emphasizes the
importance of skills based learning, rather than attempting to cram your brain
with a daunting amount of information that you
do not really understand. If you put in the effort, communicate with your
mentor, follow the course instructions and believe in yourself - you really WILL
pass. Feel free to email me if you need any further convincing, and I will be
happy to discuss my Celebration experience with you."

"Passing the New York Bar exam with Celebration Bar Exam Review after a
disastrous first try with one of the "big names" in bar review was a wonderful
experience from day 1 till the end.
Don't get me wrong, studying for the bar is a dreadful thing, especially if like
me, you left law school about 10 years ago, come from Europe, have three small
kids, work and therefore have to study between 9 and 12 every night.
The materials provided were easy to read and to assimilate. I finally got to
understand what CPLR was all about and most importantly what was worth
remembering or not. The lecture tapes were great and helped me create the right
size type of summaries that were excellent for the last 14 days of review. This course is also wonderful in preventing you from sinking into insanity. The
psychological coaching is fantastic. It is unbelievable how a few phone calls
and all these e-mails from Jackson saved me from despair, stress and helped me
to focus on the final goal. When I walked into the exam room, I knew what I had
to do and how and most importantly I had learned how to deal with the stress,
time pressure and Jackson had built in me a lot of self confidence."

"Just wanted to let you know that I passed. Celebration's subject outlines
were sufficiently comprehensive to pass the exam yet not overwhelming in minute
detail. The step by step assignment based study guide was tremendously helpful
in planning and pacing my studies. The one on one individual essay feedback
sessions along with the online assistance program ensured that all my problem
areas and questions were being addressed."

"Celebration
Bar Exam Review is an excellent bar provider for foreign educated
law graduates. The home study structure of the course enabled me to focus on the
relevant material and learn the test-taking techniques which to me, were
unfamiliar territory. With the mentoring option I was able to realize and
improve my weak areas. My success with the NY bar exam, as a foreign law
graduate, is a testament of the high-quality course content and teaching from
Celebration and its instructors."

"When I decided to take the Florida
Bar Exam I knew
that I needed a review course. I am from San Juan,
Puerto Rico... The materials included were clear and easy to
understand considering the fact that English is not
my first language, I am a Spanish speaking person. I passed both parts of the Florida Bar Exam on my first try. I recommend Celebration Bar Exam Review
100%"

"I indeed passed the NY Bar Exam. That's even more
remarkable, because I'm a German lawyer who just did his LL.M. study in
California ...So in case you have some interested Germans for your classes, you can refer
them to me to recommend your
Celebration Bar Exam Review course."
