Feb 2008 Georgia Bar Exam Topics:

Here's what Jackson wrote to our Georgia students prior to the exam:

"I think the timing is right for both a Con Law and a Dom Rel essay. If I had to pick a longshot, it would be Evidence..."

 Our students told us:
"...you were right on target with the outlines...very thorough...I was prepared..."
"...Jackson, you are a genius..."
"You were right on the mark! …"
"You are an AMAZING Teacher!"
"You don't always get what you pay for, but in this instance I certainly did receive my money's worth, and I thank you. You delivered a finely tuned Georgia Bar Review machine. The rest was up to me..."

"Good news -- I passed.  You were right to be skeptical of my cynicism.  Your prediction was also right about the subject matter for the exam.  Come to think of it -- you were right on just about everything.  Thanks for all of your help, your wisdom, your encouragement and your concern." M.S. PASSED July 2007 GA Exam

2006 Results

"As a 64 year old, taking the Georgia two day Bar Exam 24 years after my last law school class, I need all the support I could get - academic, moral and spiritual.  Celebration Bar Review provided all of that.  I could not have done it without Jackson Mumey's guidance and support." John Patterson, PASSED  GA Exam

"I passed the GA Bar Exam. I loved your program and the home study option is the way to go, in particular if one lives some distance from the city. I highly recommend your course to all taking the BAR and your support cannot be quantified. Thank you for all the help."
Todd Harding PASSED July 2006 GA Exam

"I passed! Thank you so much for all your help and guidance.  I truly could not have done it without Celebration Bar Review and your ability"
D.E. PASSED Feb 2006 GA Exam

"THANK YOU so much for getting me through ANOTHER bar exam!  After preparing for Florida last July with you and PASSING, I did not know whether I could study for another bar exam, it was YOU who helped me make the decision to take the Georgia Bar and it was CELEBRATION BAR REVIEW that helped me PASS the Georgia Bar!  Once again, the outlines were easy to understand and the lectures made sense.  My favorite part of the course was the essay writing because YOU made me feel confident in my writing skills and you gave me the strength to keep studying in your weekly messages.  I recommend Celebration Bar Review to anyone taking the bar exam because I know that your course works, after all I'm licensed in TWO states now!!"
Janie Stoetzel,
PASSED

From a July 2004 Georgia bar taker: "I would just like to say that I really appreciated the words of advice/wisdom leading up to the exam. The messages gave me inspiration for the exam. I would also like to say that you were dead on with the predictions. I studied all the subjects, but I put a bit more emphasis on the ones you had predicted might be on the exam.  Con Law, Crim Law, GA Civ Pro, and Family Law." And that's EXACTLY what we predicted!

Well, I passed and I must admit that I was fully prepared to not to pass.  I came out of the exam very unsure of my answers.  I have not practiced much law since being admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1996, at least not enough to have been admitted by motion under the reciprocity rules.
Thank you for your study course and words of encouragement during the study period.
William Braswell   PASSED

"A great positive of the course is that it's a home study program, which allows you to save time from
commuting as well as provide great flexibility for the time of day to study. The feedback aspect is also unique from any
other bar preparation programs.  Lastly, believe Jackson when he advises you to have all substantive studying completed no later than 2 weeks before the exam.  The course really comes together in the 2 weeks before the exam, when you are
completing the review questions.  Just keep on answering the review questions, over and over, (after you listen to all the tapes) and you will pass.  I did, (the first time)."
Dorothy S. PASSED

Essay Topic Changes Announced:

The Georgia Board of Bar Examiners issued a statement that the testable subjects for the Essay part of the exam had been changed.

Six subjects have been dropped from the list: Agency and Partnership; Corporations; Remedies; Damages; Conflict of Laws; and Federal Taxation. Business Organizations and Non-Monetary Remedies have been added to the list.

Here's our analysis: this is good news! There are fewer subjects to prepare for the exam and the two "new" subjects are really just sub-sets of existing broader topics. Our editors are reviewing the announced changes and will make adjustments to our outlines as necessary.

New Georgia Attorney Reciprocity Rules Announced

The new rules allow attorneys in active practice of law for 5 of the last 7 years to waive into Georgia. There are a number of restrictions so be certain to check the specific language of the rule. Note that the rule only applies to Attorneys from jurisdictions that "have comity...with the State of Georgia" (i.e., reciprocity).
